Whales, whales and dolphins, dolphins - Sat Mar 26th

It was supposed to be rainy and rough, but it was calm with partly sunny skies and light winds.  Gorgeous day on the Channel and here is what the Condor expressly saw:
 
10 Gray Whales

3 Humpback Whales
10 Inshore Bottlenose Dolphins

50 Long beak Common Dolphins 

 

The first Gray Whale in the parade today came up alongside the boat and spent and entire surface interval taking a close look at the Condor Express.  Others were found in groups of 2, 3 and 4.  The 3 Humpback whales were farther to the south, and almost immediately surface next to the boat and spent quite a few minutes within feet of the happy passengers.   Finally, one of the Gray Whales breached 4 or 5 times.  You will be able to see all these behaviors on our photo website no later than tomorrow afternoon.  What a great day.
