Whale Report - Sat Nov 27

Whale and Dolphin Lovers,

Another wonderful day on the Channel, albeit a bit chilly and moderately breezy.

The Condor Express ran east again today, and found lots and lots of amazing activity which is described below.  Remember, we are the only full time whale watching boat on the Channel these days and we run trips  W, Th, F, Sa and Sun.  You never know on a day to day basis what mother nature has in store.  But it is always an amazing day full of sea creatures and adventures on the high seas when the Condor Express leaves the dock every day at 10am regularly.  And if that is not enough to excite you and your customers, the Condor Express is now officially on its "off season" ticket price schedule:  $75 for adults and only $50 for kids.  Get the best for less!

Today's sightings include:
2,500 Common Dolphins  (in several groups)
1 Humpback Whale  (including a BREACH!)
6 MInke Whales
500 California Sea Lions (acting like, and mingling amongst, the Common Dolphins)

Enjoy the natural wonders of the Santa Barbara Channel and the northern Channel Islands while the weather is spectacular.  Sign up now and tell your friends.  There should be plenty of spots available for our next trip, but the only way to guarantee you'll have a ticket to board is to make a reservation if you have time, SO call 1-888-77WHALE begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              1-888-77WHALE      end_of_the_skype_highlighting or 805-882-0088 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting              805-882-0088      end_of_the_skype_highlighting to get your name on the list.

Re: A Glorious Whale of a Day for Dolphins! Black Friday, November 26

Yes, I do actually know how to spell "porpoise."  As in the sentence:  "I did not make that typographical error on porpoise."

Thanks, ASJ !

The Fall Whale Fest continues...Friday, Nov 5th

Nature Lovers,

Yet another spectacular day on the Channel today, as Captain Mat took the Eastern route and was not disappointed...

...this is what the Condor Expressly saw:

700 Common Dolphins
5 Humpbacks
150 Risso's Dolphins
121 Sea Lions

There is light rain forecast for tomorrow, Saturday, Nov 6, but the latest NOAA NWS runs show a slow arrival (probably not until after the whale watch trip) and very light rainfall amounts (will we get any?), so c'mon out on what may be one of the epic days on the Channel tomorrow.  Plus, I know I'm going out on a limb with this theory, but it is my careful hypothesis that we have a dozen or so Humback Whales that may hang around through the winter.  These whales have not left for Costa Rica and the Sea of Cortez, and may not be taking part in the mating and calving rituals down south.  Here it is November 4 and still plenty of Humpbacks around.   Let's wait and see how this theory plays out in the weeks and months ahead.
